Drive-By

In Drive-By Love, classical innocence meets gangster swagger in a playful and ironic twist on modern romance. Set against a dreamy seaside backdrop with palm trees and ocean breeze, two cherubs sit in a sleek vintage convertible. One is confidently at the driver’s seat, wearing shades like a boss. The other, riding shotgun, aims a golden arrow with laser focus—ready for a “hit” of a different kind.

At first glance, the setup recalls a familiar phrase: “drive-by.” Often associated with gangsters and mafia culture, the term typically evokes danger, speed, and violence. But in this scene, those dark associations are turned inside out. These little winged mafiosos aren’t spreading fear—they’re spreading love. Cupid has gone rogue, doing a drive-by shooting of affection, targeting hearts instead of rivals.

A bold red stiletto placed in the car adds an extra layer of flirtation and mystery—was there a recent “victim” of love? Or is she still waiting ahead?

Drive-By Love reminds us that love can catch us off guard, just like an unexpected encounter. It doesn’t always arrive gently or quietly—it can strike with impact, just like a scene from a movie.

“The moments of happiness we enjoy take us by surprise. It is not that we seize them, but that they seize us.”

幸福和愛的出現常常是突如其來的,無法預測也無法安排。

This work plays with the tension between innocence and edge. I imagined a world where Cupid has attitude—where love pulls up in a classic car, cool as a gangster, and delivers joy like a surprise hit. It’s cheeky, it’s cinematic, and above all, it’s a reminder: even in a world of chaos and speed, love still finds its way to strike.
