This painting was commissioned by a devoted collector who wished to honor her beloved dog, who has passed, and her cherished cat, who still remains by her side. Creating this piece has been both a challenge and a privilege, as I had only a few photos to work from. But through the collector’s heartfelt stories, I’ve come to feel as if I know them—their unique spirits, quirks, and the joy they brought her. I chose to paint cupids tenderly feeding them their favorite treats, bringing them together in a single scene. Though they never met, they are united here through their shared love for the one person they both adored.

Our pets are truly our best friends, and their love endures long after they’re gone. This painting is a tribute to the invisible threads of love that connect them, across time and distance, as they remain forever close to the heart of the one who cherished them most.
